Evening Primrose has a long history in skincare.

Native Americans used it for bruises, for various skin issues but

also they ate the roots. The oil is extracted from the seeds using

the cold-pressing method.

The non-saponifiable portion, about 1.5–2% of the oil, contains

elevated amounts of sterols, tocopherols, hydrocarbons, and alcohols.

Phytosterols present in Evening Primrose oil have been

suggested to possess anti-inflammatory, antibacterial,

and anti-fungal activities.
